Lichtblock® Uno red light lamp
Our Lichtblock® Uno is used by numerous professional athletes in Germany. Especially when used as a background light when travelling or as a tool for regeneration, many athletes report their positive experience. But also in normal everyday life - whether in families or in companies - many of our customers use modern red and near-infrared light to increase well-being.
The most important thing: This red light is used
We have made the experience ourselves that large panels often disappear in the basement and are simply not used. We are amazed at the creativity of our customers when it comes to integrating red light into everyday life.
What is the difference to the well-tried heat red light lamp?
Our Lichtblock is not a heat lamp as you know it from the physiotherapeutic practice or as a home remedy against colds or tension. Heat lamps are about the thermal or warming effect that is produced by a filament. Our Lichtblock uses light-emitting diodes (LEDs), i.e. cold light, and works with very specific wavelengths to achieve an effect.
What effect does red light have in nature?
As with photosynthesis in a plant, there are also certain enzymes in the human body, called chromophores, which can absorb photons from certain wavelengths. These enzymes are located in our mitochondria, which are the power plants of the cell. We can think of it like a solar panel on the roof of a house, where light energy is converted into electricity. The same thing happens in the human body when red and near-infrared light hits the body.
It has been found that there is a specific window between 600 and 1100 nm where light can have a particular effect on mitochondria. It has been shown that red light has an effect on superficial skin structures and near-infrared light penetrates the skin deeper and can have an effect on deeper tissue and circulation.
It was long thought that a laser was needed for the effect described. However, it is now known that LEDs can achieve the same effect. In the meantime, there are numerous studies and articles in various fields that show that modern red light has a promising future.
Power light
At Lichtblock you can choose between two light modes: In power light mode, all lamps of the light block are switched on and emit three different wavelengths of red light and near-infrared light.


Ambient light
With the ambient mode, you can bring atmospheric evening lighting into your four walls. The combination with a candle is particularly beautiful. Other lighting that could wake you up can be turned down and you can relax better.
The red light is particularly suitable for bridging the sunless winter time, but also for people who spend a lot of time indoors. Our red light uses light with wavelengths of 630, 660 and 850 nm.

Breaks
After the power light mode, wait about 24 hours before irradiating the same area with power light.
Tips
Especially in the beginning, we recommend halving the duration to get your body used to the red light.
The power light should ideally be applied during the day, i.e. between sunrise and sunset, and at least 2 hours before going to bed.
Application: Ambient light
Ambient light is ideally used after sunset as a substitute for conventional lighting to prepare you for the night.
