The crucial and biggest problem of blue light after sunset is its effect on the nervous system. After dark, the light tricks the brain into thinking it is the wrong time of day. This interrupts the sleep cycle and can have a negative effect on your child's health, especially over a longer period of time. Blueblockers that block 100% blue light can help your child protect the sleep cycle and improve sleep quality.
Difference between LEDs and fire
We speak of blue light at a wavelength of approx. 380 to 495 nanometres (nm). It is short-wave and very energy-rich light. Modern displays, LEDs and energy-saving lamps have a disproportionately high share of blue light. This stimulates certain photoreceptor cells and can lead to a dysregulation of the sleep-wake rhythm. This can have a negative effect on your child's hormones and metabolism. (1)
Before we were able to turn night into day through the invention of electricity, there were only natural sources of light in the form of fire. The big and decisive difference to today's light sources is the distribution of the light spectrum. Blue and green are hardly present in candlelight, as can be seen in the graph. Furthermore, fire has no flicker effect, which can stress the nervous system. Therefore, fire usually has a calming effect.

A systematic review by Hester et al. (2) comes to the following conclusion:
Out of the 24 publications focusing on sleep, there was substantial evidence for blue-blocking glasses being a successful intervention for reducing sleep onset latency in patients with sleep disorders, jet lag, or variable shift work schedules. Given the well-established biological mechanism and clinical research showing that blue-blocking glasses are effective for inducing sleep, they are a viable intervention to recommend to patients with insomnia or a delayed sleep phase.
Why is there no 550 model for children?
In our practice, we have found that children's nervous systems still react strongly to colours. Apart from that, especially younger children feel much more comfortable with a lighter version and prefer to wear it.
I wear the glasses about 3 hours in the evening and fall asleep much faster since then. I can definitely recommend.
Very high quality, stylish and effective
Our 4 year old loves these glasses. He asks for them as soon as the clock is on six and wants to fall asleep with them. We've had the glasses for 1 month now and I've noticed pretty quickly that my son comes over to us less often at night than he did before. Maybe it's because of the deeper sleep he gets from wearing the glasses. We are waiting eagerly until our two smallest come to the age to also get those great glasses du!
Fall asleep faster, sleep better through the night
After ordering the glasses, they arrived at my home just 2 days later.
Wear them every evening for 2 hours before going to bed and feel DEEPLY that my body comes to rest, my eyes turn off and I become more tired.
The first evening was of course a bit unusual, due to the fact that everything is perceived more orange. From the 2nd evening, however, this was no longer a problem. Even when watching movies, I do not feel any impairment by the colored lens, only light blue colors are perceived slightly differently.
Fall asleep much faster and better through the glasses
Beautiful glasses that I no longer want to miss in the evening. My friend watches TV more often in the evening and I read, the light often bothered me. With the glasses everything is much more pleasant.

The Oro is a bit more expensive, but you get a high quality frame that is absolutely robust and can be super adjusted to the head. I already had glasses in light orange and have now bought the Oro in dark orange, because I wanted to improve my sleep even more. I put the glasses on and get tired within 10 minutes. Love them. 👌
The glasses are really great. I wear them in the evening and am actually tired much faster. The yellow light is very pleasant for the eyes and the mood. Also, the service is excellent. I had to exchange something. That went very promptly and very courteously over the stage. And also in an incredibly friendly tone. I bought the clip-ons in the bundle and use both since I have them (as far as it is socially acceptable) every evening after dusk has set in.

Super, pleasant glasses. Totally relaxes the eyes. Sleep is much better. Watching TV is great with the glasses, does not distort the image, you have to get used to the fact that the colors appear warmer (more yellow), but after a short time you get used to it and it is just pleasant. I am now finally no longer pushed up by the television and I go to bed relaxed. Really only to recommend. Such a simple and inexpensive way to improve his quality of life. TOP!!!
